NCCA-Certified [Non-Licensed] Temperament Therapist
An NCCA-Certified Temperament Therapist is a faith-based counselor who specializes in using the Arno Profile System (APS) temperament model to provide biblically sound guidance and support. While not licensed to diagnose mental health disorders or provide clinical therapy in a secular context, they are qualified to offer spiritual and emotional counseling to individuals, couples, and families within their scope of training and certification. Their work is ministry-focused and adheres to the ethical guidelines set forth by the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA).

Additional Completion Requirements for Certification
1. Respond, in writing, to 50 ethical questions posed by N.C.C.A.'s National Licensing Board of Examiners.
2. Submit two copies of a written thesis consisting of appropriate number of individual reports (case studies) developed from the candidate's practicum work using the Arno Profile System. (See individual program for required number of reports).
3. Provide required documentation per Enrollment Agreement.
4. Submit annual dues of $50.00
7. Submit to background check. [Additional fee required].
8. Complete yearly continuing education.
9. Yearly license renewal.

- Temperament Assessments:
- Conduct temperament analyses using the APS model to help clients understand their God-given traits, emotional needs, strengths, and areas of potential stress or conflict.
- Provide personalized insights into how temperament impacts relationships, communication, decision-making, and spiritual growth.
- Biblically Based Counseling:
- Offer spiritual guidance and counseling rooted in Scripture, addressing issues such as identity, purpose, forgiveness, and spiritual growth.
- Help clients align their lives with biblical principles, promoting emotional healing and a closer relationship with God.
- Emotional and Relational Issues:
- Address emotional struggles such as stress, anxiety, and unresolved anger using biblical counseling techniques.
- Help clients navigate relational challenges, including marital conflicts, parenting issues, and interpersonal struggles, using temperament insights.
- Marriage and Family Counseling:
- Support couples and families in understanding each other’s temperaments to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and foster healthy relationships.
- Provide premarital and marital counseling based on temperament compatibility and biblical principles.
COACHING, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT & CHURCH/MINISTRY SUPPORT
- Life Coaching and Personal Development:
- Guide clients in setting and achieving personal goals, managing stress, and improving self-awareness using their unique temperament traits.
- Encourage personal growth and character development from a biblical perspective.
- Church and Ministry Support:
- Work alongside pastors and ministry leaders to offer counseling services within a church or ministry context.
- Provide workshops or seminars on temperament and biblical counseling for congregations, ministry teams, or community groups.
- Referral: Recognize when issues fall outside their scope of practice (e.g., severe mental health disorders, or legal matters) and refer clients to licensed professionals or specialized services, as needed.
- Ministry Context: Their work is considered a form of pastoral care or Christian ministry, not clinical mental health treatment, and is typically conducted in settings such as churches, non-profit Christian counseling centers, or independent ministries.
